aidan_skinner: chin chin!

So, given that I sometimes want to escape the beer soaked rut of Sleazys, the Note, Uisge and the Judges I sometimes stop by Booly Mardys for one of their tasty parma violet martinis. Sadly I don't know of anywhere else that does decent cocktails, and I could use another venue in which to fulfill my 50 cocktail challenge for the year.

Where do you go when you want something with an umbrella and an ABV in the 30-40% range?

I must be the only person in glasgow not to love sleazys :(

But cocktails i DO love! My absolute favourite place for cocktails is upstairs in Staka, i think it must only be open at weekends now tho, because its never open when i go in! They have a huuuuge cocktail list, or alternatively the barperson will ask you what you like and mix something up for you!

Other than that, I guess there's always Revolution in town. Actually, i was in Moskito the other week (on a sunday when cocktails are half price) and they had a fairly comprehensive cocktail list, and you know, real fruit and things.

I've never been to Booly Mardys, but parma violet martinis sound AMAZING!

Nah, there's a whole bunch of people who don't like Sleazys cause it's full of art school kids. I have fond memories of my misspent youth associated with the place though.

I sahll have to check out Moskito, half price cocktails is always a good thing. I don't really know the bars on Bath St, there seems to be a ton of them.

Booly Mardys is pretty nice, bit middle class west end professional but they have good food and good drinks - the parma violet martini is just my favouritist in the whole world. If I've had a particularly rough week I go there, drink a couple of those and then have a nice hot bath with Ne Worry Pas from Lush so I also smell of parma violets and it makes it aallll better. :)
